Summary

I am a driven designer attempting to reenter the design industry full-time after an extended hiatus. I have a BS in Industrial Design and 10+ years’ experience spanning graphic design, illustration, signage design, product design, and ERP software development. I am extremely detail oriented and am excited to join a motivated team and create impactful solution to today's design challenges.

Web and Graphics Designer

Lighthouse NW, Remote Part-time

November 2016 – Currenttechnical documentation.

I joined Lighthouse NW in 2016 to apply my design skills in support of my community. I redesigned their website to enhance online visibility and credibility. I also perform regular updates, create signage, forms, graphics, and marketing materials as needed.

Lead Sign Designer

Maple Valley Signs, Full-time

January 2018 - January 2019 

As Lead Sign Designer at Maple Valley Signs, I handled complex design projects, CNC tasks, and client collaboration. My responsibilities included sign design, branding, customer service, project management, and CNC operation. 

Lead Visual & Interaction Designer (UX/UI)

July 2013 - May 2015

At Continuant, I worked as a Visual & Interaction Designer, helping overhaul their ERP system by designing user-friendly interfaces that improved productivity and streamlined processes. I focused on user research, testing, mockups, and UI/UX design for internal .NET apps. I also trained clients and received the Simplexity Award in 2014 for simplifying complex UI issues.

As a freelance designer, I work with diverse set of clients on projects that varied in process, requirements, and audience. I enjoy adapting to each project’s unique needs and constantly learning new skills. My work includes design/build construction (sheds, decks, pet furniture), graphic design, typography, illustration, sign design, 3D modeling/printing, animation, photography, and web design.

International Children’s Network, Part-time

April 2009 - March 2011

At ICN, a nonprofit supporting child education in developing countries, I handled web design, branding, graphic design, marketing materials, UX research, digital photography, and stage set design. I was often faced with last-minute changes and resource constraints, which helped me develop creative problem-solving skills. In 2018, I returned as a volunteer to apply my research skills in developing concepts for a mobile app to help ICN agents collect and send critical client information in the field.

At Teague, I converted design concepts into high- and low-fidelity physical mockups for the aerospace industry. I led independent projects, managing a team of specialists from concept to completion, ensuring projects were on time and within budget. My responsibilities included mockup design, technical drawings, material sourcing, usability testing, lighting concepts, structural design, and 3D modeling using Rhino and SolidWorks.
